sweet, thankyou for linking me to the update. Now I gotta catch up
................... No worries GA. Hope her nesting (and the incubation) goes well for you. Post some pics when she lays The world needs more c.b.b varanids.
Congrats on the eggs. I don't know if they are you're first or not but as someone who has had few clutches not make it I figure I might as well share the experience and info i've gathered from more experienced keepers....nothign is more dissappointing than 10 eggs going 110 days only to have 2 hatch and 8 perfect babies drown in the egg.
-In the past, I've always incubated them wayyyy tooo wet. They seem to not fair as well in the same conditions as say bp eggs.
-the more substrate/bigger the container you have them in the better. This stabilizes the temps. (fast temp changes, even SMALL ones seem to have an adverse effect) whereas slow temp/humidity changes are tolerated. An example would be removing them to candle etc.'
Probably seems like no brainers to you guys but it was stuff i didnt really know
my lack of success with eggs in the past was due mostly to improvised/poor incubation i think. I have a clutch thats been cooking for about a month now. fingers crossed. and GOOD LUCK with them
................. LOL aint that the truth. Ill probably start pulling my hair out around day 75 Thanx.
