    Alife 1000 thermostat

Hey guys! Was just curious who's using these and what you think of them?
I have read a lot of bad reviews on them but there are just as many good reviews as well.
    Thanks, Jeremy.

Sorry OP, but since it was asked, I'll answer this question. Can't help with your inquiry though.

I really like my Hydrofarm tstat. I wouldn't use it for incubation though. It has about a 3 degree swing before it cuts on/off.

ALL on-off thermostats have at least a 3-5 degree swing.

I used a repti-temp for my first incubator and it worked but had to be watched constantly, I don't recommend them for that purpose either.

    Re: Alife 1000 thermostat

I just have one snake and I don't plan on getting any more for a while, I'm maxed out on critters right now, so I was looking for something that's not $80+ since I don't really need one that advanced, just something to control temps.

OP I have also heard a ton of bad stuff about Alife, which was why I asked about the other brand, which has good reviews, but is a little more pricey but not by that much just a couple of bucks I think.

How much is the Alife? I got my Hydrofarm for like $28 shipped on Amazon.

Yeah ebay has a Hydro for 32.95 with free shipping, amazon I believe still has some up for about that same price, $28.

LLL's Alife is $26.95 and everywhere you look they have lots of reviews saying they shoot up temps and freak out a lot.

For a little more money you could get a Ranco which, from my experience, is much better then the Alife

In the long run you'll be happier.

I still use a couple of the Alife ones for extras when I need them. They're okay.
