Spider Wobbles??

I have spiders their combos and have hatched them. I can tell you that all you have to do is hold one and the idea of the wobble being a bad thing foes right out the window.

I have a normal that occasionally does what I think is wobbles, from the videos I've seen on it. I was told it was "inbreeding". Now that she's in a tub she doesn't do it as much, but when she was in an aquarium, she would start to explore "upwards" then end up kinda going over backwards and waving her head around upside down.
Maybe she just has balance issues, but now that she's in a 4-6 inch high tub I haven't seen her do it. Of course it just might be harder to see her when she's in the tub. =)

It is sad and makes me not want a spider Do any other morphs have this problem? Or do they have any different specific problems like the spider?

Mine doesn't. Now i cannot speak of her first year of life, since I did not own here then, but since I've owned her, never seen it. Mayb she had it earlier in life, I don't know, but she is a no wooble spider now. With that said I know each one of her spider babies has the possiblity of having a bad wooble. I'm not saying she has better genes or something, just she does not wooble, what do you want me to say? She has a wooble but you just can't see it? Lol

Not at all? Are you sure? When roaming it doesn't just seem a little "slow" in righting itself when upside down?
Maybe it's not noticeable to you, but I guarantee it's probably there. Sorry.

I just recently picked up a bee, he has a very bad wobble/corkscrew. The last 2 days, I have looked in his tub and he is doing complete corkscrews, when he see's me, he stops, when I touch his tub, he stops. He eats, uses the bathroom and everything completely fine.. May miss on the first strike. I hope he calms down a bit, and he's also fine when holding him, moves around fine.. VERY head shy! It's not the back and forth of the head, that's when he misses the rat pup, but not as bad as the video posted in the other thread.

But the complete corkscrew is annoying. I had 2 spiders, and my female does it sometimes, but he seems to be always doing it when I look in his tub. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong times, I don't know.

Maybe I'm just over-exagerrating but it seems like IBD sometimes, but there is nothing wrong with him otherwise.

He's a mild wobbler, though too much stress sets it off like crazy. I was afraid to even touch his bin for the first week or so, just because I didn't wanna make it worse. My snake owner friend also made me paranoid about IBD, but he was still eating and wasn't losing weight or anything else that comes hand in hand with it.

I just look at it as one of those minor imperfections you find in everything, but the wobble doesn't make me love spiders any less.

Yea exactly, I agree. I have a female spider that has a minor wobble, but the bee is extreme. I just did move him to a new tub as well so hopefully it will subside.

Spiders wobble. Each Spider does it to some extent. Some Spiders are trainwrecks that are almost heartbreaking to see. Others are so mild that most people would never notice.

I for one am not intimidated by the wobble. I love the patterning, I want to breed combos with it, and I accept that I might get unlucky and produce a trainwreck at some point.

Frankly as long as the animal can function and feed and poop and allsuch, I don't care how wobbley they are.

Like someone else said, flip your snake and see how fast they right themselves. Watch them when you feed them and see if they tilt their head just a nickel's worth. ALL Spiders wobble...some are just very, VERY slight and somewhat situational.

It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them though.

It makes me sad FOR THAT SNAKE, but it doesn't deter me from wanting/keeping Spiders and Spider combos. And yes some other morphs have issues present...to my knowledge Caramel Albinos have spinal deformities, someone correct me if I'm wrong? But again so long as they can live and thrive, no reason not to keep them. After all, as someone else said a while back, other morphs may have issues we don't even know about, such as limited vision or other invisible defects. So long as they eat and poop and breed, they can have a decent quality of life.

I have seen, held and bred many, many spiders and the trainwreck ones are very few and far inbetween. You dont see videos of the healthy spiders just like the nightly news doesnt play many happy stories. People want to see trainwrecks, LOL

I was speaking to Dan Sutherland this weekend at the Super Show and he told me they were able to cure spider wobbles and caramel kinking with incubation adjustments. I found that very interesting considering they produce a huge amount of BP's every year.

Raul I heard about that said they incubated them lower and slower..even got rid of the duck bill thing..I'm really interested to try it for sure..It has promise..
