Normal X 66% Het For Albino?

This could possibly be a stupid question, but If you breed a normal X 66% het for albino is it possible to have albino hatchlings? Or do you have to have a het albino pair to produce albinos?

Also How can a normal be 66% het for albino?

You have to have a het PAIR in order to produce an albino.

The 66% doesn't mean the baby is 66% albino or anything like that...it means that it has a 66% CHANCE of carrying the albino gene, or another way to say it has a 66% chance of being het for albino.

Actually, the only way to tell if the 66%er is a true het is to breed it to an albino.
Albino babies means it's a het, no albinos likely means it's not a het.

Im not sure hets are the best thing for beginners to mess with.

a 66% het is the offspring of a pair of 100% hets bred together. If you breed a visual albino to a het the offspring will be 100% hets and visual albinos. I would say if you want to get into albinos the prices are low enough to buy maybe a visual male and one or two 100% hets from a reputable breeder. But for some of the more expensive recessive morphs such as clowns hets can be a cheaper way to get in the game and give yourself the chance of making a visual of your own.

Exactly. There's a chance that the "normal" animal inherited one of the albino genes...and a chance that he didn't. And since we can't tell by looking, we just say in short-hand "This animal has a 66% chance of being het for albino".

Once a 66% het has been bred and proven to carry the gene (produces albino offspring), he is no longer referred to as 66%....then he'd be called a "proven het albino".
