    New Boas, and a question...

Ok, so my buddy unloaded these on my last night for almost nothing. One is a male Salmontine with a real nice striped tail that I have named Larry, another is a beautiful sub adult girl with a reverse striped tail that I have named Chanel, and the other he said was an Argentine, but upon further research and someone on another forum pointing it out to me she looks like a Nic. I named her Bubbles.

My question is, the Nic, since she is sooo dark, could she be a Type II Anery? Or just a really dark Nic? What does everyone think? I really don't care either way since I got them stupid cheap, but would just like to know.

    Here are all three

Now just the Nic. She has a retained eye cap and some shed on her nose that I need to get off her.

I agree, looks much more like a Nic than a Bco. Her lower half does resemble an anery, but I wouldn't go as far as to label her an anery, since she wasn't even sold to you as a Bci. Also, Chanel looks like a Bcc to me, maybe a Peruvian?

They are all fantastic! I sure wouldn't mind having any one of those.

Thanks, I agree Chanel does look like a BCC. As for Bubbles being an Argentine or Nic, I have no idea now. A real good friend of mine that is a taxonomist and a snake keeper as well said she is a BCO mixed with BCI, so who knows. The Anery thing was just an afterthought. She did manage to bite me on my face today though. Got my chin and lower lip. I had her in my lap for a good twenty minutes and all of a sudden "THWAP" right in the mouth.

Ouch! That's got to hurt. I don't think I've ever been bit on the face...

It was a first for me. It didn't really hurt, but I have a thing about anything touching me on the face. I have always had a strong, violent reaction to it. I am afraid that before I knew it I had swatted her out of my lap and into the floor, but I picked her back up and gently carried her to the snake room and put her up. I bled like a stuck pig though, and she seems to be fine too.

Chanel does not look to be a BCC. The shape of the saddles and head look like BCI. I would have to say Bubbles may be a BCO/BCI mix, if anything. The Argentines entire body, as well as, the head, usually will have the subdued and mottled markings like Bubble's tail...

Yeah, Chanel is not a BCC, but she has a lot of the BCC look to her. In person you can really see that she is a BCI.

As for bubbles, I am just gonna go ahead and call her a BCO/BCI cross as that was what she was said to be, and she looks like one. Looking in Vincent Russos book you can see pure bred Argentines that look identical to her, and other ones that have the mottled markings on the head. Most of them in that book though have the same body markings as she does. The Nics on the other had do not look as much like her.

Chanel does appear to be mixed with Bcc but she is definitely not pure Bcc but i would say she is most likely a mix, and bubbles is definitely a nic or ca or one of those dwarf boas and she is not anery you can definitely see red in her tail.
