Re: Our 2010 Ball Python clutches :)

    Um... OK!

My butter x normal clutch, which has already produced a butter (see my previous post for his pic, clearly a butter), has just produced a... pastel???

    what the... ??

This female was introduced once to a bumblebee, and I did not witness a lock. Aside from that, she was ALWAYS paired with my Butter male and the lock was witnessed a few times, and as evidenced by the other hatchling in this clutch, that mating did take...

can ball pythons retain sperm from previous matings?

Re: Our 2010 Ball Python clutches :)

    LOL!

Well, I think I beat the odds with this clutch (and had a little murphy's law thrown in as this was normal x butter, where a bumblebee had been introduced to the normal only once!)

    4 Eggs and I got:

    1 Pastel
    3 Butters

    WOOOT!

Here is the last Butter to come out:

I couldn't be happier! Their dad is a BEAUTIFUL butter, and one of my favorite snakes - super friendly, and well behaved, and a good eater

Now the rest of my clutch0210 is hatching - I had a rollout egg from that clutch hatch out a few days ago (was kept in a separate container to prevent possible mold spreading), and it was a Spider

Re: Our 2010 Ball Python clutches :)

    More baby ball pythons!

Clutch 0210 ended with 2 spiders, 1 normal, and a DIE bumblebee (ack! horrible...) (Normal x Bumblebee)
Clutch 0310 ended with 3 Butters and 1 Pastel (normal x a butter and a bumblebee)
Clutch 0410 has 1 normal out of the egg, and in the eggs are 4 pastels, 1 normal, and a bumblebee! (Normal x Bumblebee)

The normal and spider from clutch 0210 are below, and the normal from clutch 0410:

    normal from 0210

    spider from 0210

    normal from 0410
