Thank you for what you said, I don't know how to respond. I always wish I could know or ask what he would think about my life as it stands. It's one of many reasons I'll never have kids though. I don't wanna leave them early. There's many more. I'm messed up to9day, Sorry.

    Re: Your worst loss?

I actually did mean snakes/pets, but I dont mind the change in flavor at all. I started it with the intent to allow venting and give others a chance to correct a potential mistake they might have made in a simular situation, so progressing into something that important suits this thread just fine.
I think its admirable you can come on and share that detail of your life and admit what you would have changed had you known. I'm sorry for your loss, Ive been lucky so far with people in my life. Ive had my share of drama, but no losses to mourn with loved ones. I hope it stays that way and I hope I can always remember that petty differences or fights for whatever reason arent nearly so important as they might seem at the time.

    Re: Your worst loss?

Thanks everyone for sharing and supporting each other. Ive always loved the idea of tattoos for lost ones, and I like that theres an over all sense of good feelings despite the threads topic.

Big thanks to those who wished me well in my efforts, Id like to update everyone and say that I caught my fire this morning!
I cant tell you what a relief it is to have her back in her tub. It was well worth sitting in the truck for four hours till 230 am tll she finally creeped out far enough for the f/t mouse I brought out. For being so easy going she did not want to be caught. lol. I just got a hiss for her displeasure though, and she had a ten day adventure.

I learned a valuable lesson and hope it will help someone else from making the same mistake because they are rushed.

    Re: Your worst loss?

I lost my childhood dog when I was... 15? Basically, he was my best friend for about 3 or 4 years. We spent each and every day together. He taught me most of what I know about animals: how to respect them and (sadly) when you're just being mean to them. I can't go a week without thinking about him (albeit, 15 wasn't too long ago!).

Congratulations on finding your snake!! That's such great news!

    Re: Your worst loss?

Last Fall, we lost our little ferret, Lilly. She was so sweet and loving. We are not sure what killed her, but we also lost Zeke, another ferret, soon after. We found Lilly laying in the bottom of the cage, barely alive. She was so thin. She had been losing weight for a while, and even with additional feedings, she wasn't gaining anything. She had been small to start out with, so the day of her passing, she weighed less than a lb. We scooped her up and I was in tears. We called our normal vet and they said they couldn't see her that day. It was an emergency, but they couldn't fit her into their schedule (We don't go to them anymore). So we rushed to the emergency vet downtown, but the exotic vet wasn't there. So then we went to the vet down the street, but their exotic vet wasn't in. They called another vet for us and we rushed her there. They got some fluids in her but we got the call the next morning that she had passed. We were devastated. I felt like a little piece of my heart was missing that day. It still hurts to think about her.

All the vet could say was that it was a virus of some kind but just in case it was bacterial, she put the remaining 3 on an antibiotic. The 3 are doing fine and have gained a ton of weight (everyone had been losing weight) since then. (They went from eating a mere 1oz each per meal, as that was all they could stomach to eat to eating 2-3oz per day!)

I will always remember Lilly and I know her brothers and sister miss her a lot. It is just not the same not seeing 4 ferrets cramming into the same hammock.

    Congrats on finding your girl!
