    Reptile Shops in Dallas, TX

    Hello everybody,

I currently live in the DFW metroplex and I am trying really hard to find a place where I can go to look at different BP morphs, cheap feeder mice, etc. Does anybody know of a place that offers these?

    Thanks in advance,
    ~SC

Should try posting this question in the Central South US forum. You'll probably get better responses...

You can get live feeder mice and rats at any local Petco, and f/t mice at Petsmart. Neither really has anything but normal bps though.

Hope that helps! I hade a hard time finding live mice for my bp when I came to Dallas for the summer too...

Stock up at the show... its well worth it... you save quite a bit. The company that sells them at the show is based in Fort Worth. They are called Pet Snacks. http://www.petsnakesnacks.net/index.html

    There prices are as follows:

    (Frozen)
    50 Fuzzy - $26
    50 Small Mice - $33.50
    25 Adult Mice - $23

If you buy the same amount at Petsmart you will spend 5 times that.

    Hope that helps!

I go to Plano Pets if I have to go to a Pet store for snake related needs. I bought my BP normal from them and the owner who is almost always there was Extremely helpful. He would not sell me any of the ones I had my eye on because they were not feeding regularly. I ended up buying one that was older than I had wanted but before taking her home he asked about my husbandry and gave me a snake handling demonstration. They sell feeders of just about every type both live and Frozen. Their prices are Pet store prices though when it comes to snakes and food.

By far the most helpful of the posts! (not saying the others weren't helpful) But thank you for such a detailed response Do they have a store in Fort worth that I could physically go to? I will definitely make sure to stock up at the show. Are there smaller quantities available? I'll definitely buy a 25 pack of adult mice but I won't want to buy a second pack of 25, probably half that. Do they have frozen rats too? Sorry for all the questions! I just wanna be prepared

Oh and another Ft Worth prey provider that someone on here recommended to me once:

    http://www.bigcheeserodents.com/

I live in Denton County and took note of the other Ft. Worth provider in this thread. Hopefully I will have two good sources now for local (no shipping needed) F/T mice and rats.....

Re: Reptile Shops in Dallas, TX

It looks like others have covered rodent providers. Both are good options to save on shipping costs. I believe Big Cheese will allow pickup of live feeders too if desired...not 100% on this.

As far as local stores with a selection of morphs, I am not aware of any. Plano Pets has been mentioned and they are the only ones I have seen carry anything other than normals. This was limited to a handful of pastels though and they were way overpriced. They do have a nice herp room and a good selection of other reptiles across the board, just not ball python morphs. I am trying to be diplomatic in my review of them, but I will never return personally due to a mishandled transaction between the store and myself that their management failed to resolve.

Your best bet for finding morphs locally is to start attending shows and interacting with local breeders. The show this weekend is held about 4-6 times a year. There is also the national show (NARBC) that comes through every February or March. I HIGHLY recommend attending that show when it comes.

And howdy neighbor! I'm reporting in from Frisco.

    1.2 Normals
