Regurge number 2...
I thought maybe it was a fluke but i fed my one female that just laid last week and she regurged, and again this week(today). She seems fine, but can't keep a meal down any idea why and how to get her to not regurge?

Re: Regurge number 2...
Hi,
A regurge is quite serious for a snake - you need to give them a recovery period before offering food again and even then it is best to start withg a smaller prey item.
If you keep offering the chance of a regurge goes up each time and it becomes more of a problem.
Do not offer her any food at all for 10 days to two weeks and then offer something really small so it is less of a strain on her system.
In the meantime try and double check everything about your husbandry to see if you can find what caused the initial regurge.
Was this her first meals after laying and what size of prey was it - had she been off feed for an extended period before laying?

Well heres the thing actually, I just removed the rat and it wasn't fully swallowed. I'd say about half maybe a little less? This was also the case last time. So shes not fully taking it down her entire digestive tract, so hopefully that is causing a little less strain(helps me sleep better a little). I'm sure this is still not fun for her. She was probably off of feed just about the entire time she was gravid. So it was a long time since she last ate. I was thinking about offering her a mouse next time, and waiting ten days to feed her. Shes the only female to do this after laying, and all were off feed during the time they were gravid. I guess they just can run the risk of having sensitive stomachs after laying?

Re: Regurge number 2...
i agree with Derek, wait atleast two weeks before offering again and go with a smaller size meal. that should give her some time to recover. whenever mines start eating after fasting i always offer smaller rats than usual.

The thing is it was a small rat, not a big one but I guess too big for her.

Re: Regurge number 2...
how small was the small rat? i would have to look at my records but i believe the first feeding after laying that mines took was about 45-50g rat.
edit...just called (woke up) the wife, it was actually 58g.

can't say for sure on the weight. I don't have a good supply of live small rats right now so I won't be able to get anything smaller then what I just got. Thats why I am going to go with a mouse next time.
