    What would you get?

    Hello all,

I have been reading for a while and want to say thanks for everyone for tips and advice they post up here.

Here is my question, my boyfriend and I already have a 100% het ghost male and have found for sale a 100% het albino female. If we mated these two, what could possibly come from the clutch?

Thanks again everyone and I look forward to the responses.

    Re: What would you get?

Everything would have a 50% chance of being a het for each trait.
In other words you'd have a mess

Your best bet might be to pick up a female het ghost and try to make a ghost, it's a 1 in 4 odds.

    Re: What would you get?

You should be able to pick up a female pastel 100% het ghost fairly inexpensively and then you could would have a
1 in 8 chance of Normals
1 in 4 chance of Normal 100% Het Ghost
1 in 8 chance of Pastel
1 in 4 chance of Pastels 100% Het Ghost
1 in 8 chance of Visual Ghost
1 in 8 chance of Pastel Visual Ghost

^ That would be a really fun breeding.

Plus IF you breed your het ghost to het albino and get 50% possible hets to prove out and eventually many years down the road you get a ghost albino I don't know that you would even be able to tell it from a normal albino since they both reduce the black pigment. Ghosts only slightly reduce the black and albinos take it out completely. If that s what you really want to produce don't let anyone talk you out of it but I think it's alot of time and effort for an animal that you may or may not be able to tell apart from a normal looking albino.

Hey since you re in Florida, there are plenty of shows and great breeders down there. You can most likely easily find a great het ghost female or some kind of morph het for ghost fem. I personally really like the look of the spider ghost. If you can find a female spider het ghost, your odds of hitting a really pretty snake would again as stated above would be 1/8. Goodluck with whatever your choice.
With the het. albino, I think that project would take way too long to prove out and really not worth the time.

How would they produce pastels? To the OP you would get all 50% possible double hets

    Re: What would you get?

Thanks everyone for the answers. Actually, we have met up with a couple of breeders in our area and one has a 100% het albino male that we are looking at. I was just curious with what we would get, we actually right now have our het ghost in with a normal female (well, we think she is normal, she was a rescue) and we plan on letting nature take its course come breeding season.

So your attempting to make a bunch of pos hets.
Is this just for experience breeding or do you have plans to save back the pos hets and try to prove them?
