First meal for my baby normal

Little guy is new to the whole eating rodents concept

    Wassat ?

Is that how you do it ?

    Gulp ... Nom Nom

    Almost there

Seeee .. I am good at that

Am I a camel or am I just full

He looks like he is due to shed (hard to see in "normal" light) but I am quite happy that he ate his first little rodent and I am sure there are more to come

i'm happy for your success but that mouse looks too big. it shouldn't leave a huge lump like that. remember, the width of the mouse should be equal to the width of the snake. grats on the first feeding

Yes, pinky mice are too small for even hatchlings, and wasted energy just to consume them.

But pinky rats on the other hand, expecially those about a week old are perfect.

Or even see if you can get hopper mice, rather than small adults (hopper mice are fully furred, eyes and ears just opened for a few days).

    Congrats on your first feed!

I wouldn't feed pinky mice at all. Pinky rats - yes, pinky mice - no.

Its just impossible to get rat pubs here .. Bought a pair of rats now to breed them but I have three snakes of which only one needs that size so its kinda pointless too (and pet shops don't sell them until they are 4-6 weeks old).
