Morphs...
Blah, Morphs get so confusing. Anyway my question is if a Normal was hatched but had Lesser Platinums as siblings would this mean that that Normal would be a Lesser Platinum HET?

Re: Morphs...
No, lessers are co-dominant which means when bred to a normal , you will have lessers and normals, with the the normals being only that, normal.

Re: Morphs...
Lessers are a co-dominant gene. The "het" in this scenario would be a snake expressing the lesser gene visibly. This means your snake is simply a normal that has lesser siblings.

Alright, some lady is selling a Normal with nice patterns she claims that the patterns come from his Lesser siblings. Haven't seen a picture yet though.

Re: Morphs...
The nice pattern comes from his parents, not his siblings--obviously.
It's entirely possible for good patterning and markings to be heritable (though not all of it is), but it has nothing to do with the lesser platinum mutation itself. If his siblings all came out normal, he'd still have the same markings.
If his parents lacked the lesser platinum gene, but had everything else they have now, he'd still look the same.
Lesser platinum IS a het. Lesser Platinum is heterozygous for blue-eyed leucistic.
Recessive: Heterozygous for albino looks normal. Homozygous for albino looks albino.
Co-Dominant: Heterozygous for BEL looks Lesser Platinum. Homozygous for BEL looks BEL.
Dominant: Heterozygous for Pinstripe looks Pinstripe. Homozygous for Pinstripe looks Pinstripe.

Re: Morphs...
Sadly, BEL is more complicated than that, and I know you know, but I just feel like I should mention it. Several morphs (lessers, butters, mojaves, etc.) are "het" for BEL. I really don't think BEL is a codom gene. More like the result of the combination of the codom genes of these morphs, but not an actual gene itself.

Re: Morphs...
I'm not sure what that means.
My understanding was that Mojave, Russo, and Lesser Platinum were all allelic, which is why you can get 'supers' when you combine them with each other, instead of only when you combine two of the same co-dom gene.
It makes no sense to say that BEL is 'not a codom gene'. The homozygous form of lesser platinum is a BEL, that is not in question. It's 2 genes, not one.
All homozygous forms are the result of 2 copies of a mutant gene.
If the allelic co-doms are confusing, then I'll use a simpler example.
The heterozygous form of Ivory is Yellowbelly. The homozygous form of Ivory is Ivory.

Re: Morphs...
Well, you get BEL when you put them together, but I don't think that makes them "het for BEL." Are mojaves het for mysic potions? I think the leucism is more a result of the combination of the effects of the codom genes present. Or something like that.

No, Mojo's are het for BEL as are all the other co-doms that make a BEL.
The Dom form(Super) is the BEL.
It's no different than his example of Yellow belly/Ivory
