Rats lol A spray bottle is handy (not necessary) pair of long tongs or hemostats might be helpful but again not necessary.

hemostats and a garden type spray bottle are great things to have, replace your thermometer and hyrdometer with a digital accurite type

Well I have two Reptile specified probe thermometers so I'm not going to let those go to waste I'll just get a Hygrometer or Gauge. If that doesn't work out as planned I will get a Accurite from walmart.

Anything but digital is useless. Trust us.

You can lose the lights. The water bowl doesn't have to be that big.

    Where's you thermostat?

Stuff to climb on isn't "good" for your ball python, but it isn't bad either. Some may use them some may not.

Personally, I would use flexwatt for heating because it's so much cheaper and I wouldn't buy anything marketed for pets or reptiles. It tends to be unnecessary overpriced crap.

    Cage clips.

In my opinion if my snake would climb and stuff I would call it good cause he would be interactive and getting exercise. (Not that its needed but its good in my opinion.)

Also my cage doesn't need clips. Nor do I think they make clips for my type of cage. Its a slide on not a pull off. If snakes are known to get out of those please tell me though I will definitely look for clips.

    You need a thermostat.

You don't need the light fixture, unless you're planning to watch your snake at night--then you can use a blue light bulb. I wouldn't leave it on all night, just turn it on when you want to watch the snake.

If you're using a tank with a screen top, you will probably have to cover most of the top with plastic anyhow, to hold in the humidity.

I wouldn't bother with the 'Repti-Bark'. It's a pointless and highly overpriced product, and it absolutely cannot be cleaned in the ludicrous fashion described on the package. Get aspen shavings, and change them frequently. Or just use newspaper.

Lose the light fixture unless you wanna get a CHE...

Plastic or anything really would work, I taped foil onto the top of my tank. Only problem is its really noisy and can rip easily :/

I use reptibark and love it. (sort of). Well then again I also got it on sale... the biggest bag they have for under $15 or something like that. PETCO (its cheaper)

Yeah that might be a bit ludicrous way to clean it... I just spot clean. Thats it... and Ive never had to really re fill the tank at all...

The main problem with repti bark is its REALLY DUSTY. which is bad bad bad... I washed mine in water sort of like how they tell you to clean it... all the dust turns the water red. But besides that... yeah its probably not worth it but I like the look...

GET A THERMOSTAT... Its a must. and LEARN HOW TO USE IT CORRECTLY so it doesnt think that its cold and heat itself up really hot...

also, i wouldnt get branches but fake plants and stuff to take up space if you have a large tank work great. Gives your snake something to hide under when theyre out...

I would also say that a spray bottle is a must... at least for me...

    Re: Sound Good?

ReptiBark Not necessary. Paper towels or aspen would work.
2 Hides Snug fit for BP Just make sure they are NOT the half log hides.
    Fixture Not necessary
Bulb Low Wat around 50-60 not necessary
    Heat Pad
Thermometers If you can get a hold of an accurite weatherstation, that would be your best bet.
    Hygrometer See above
Water Dish Big enough for the snake to fit in You don't need one big enough for the snake to fit in. Two identical hides come first, if you can fit a big water bowl after that, go for it.
Branch/Branches Not necessary but good for the snake. =) Once your snake gets bigger you will notice that it won't climb. These are terrestrial snakes. They don't climb around for exercise.
    Spray Bottle
    Long Tongs
    THERMOSTAT
