Who to call to check up on a package?

Hey guys. I live in Canada by the way so most US users may not be able to help in this matter, just sayin

Okay so anyway. A few days ago I ordered the Hydrofarm thermostat off Amazon. It is being shipped from the US

So it took 2 days for it to begin being shipped (just started getting shipped today at like 5am)

BUT it has no tracking... So I was wondering where I would call to be able to ask about my package. I have the item number ect ect. Its important because if im correct the MAX that I wont have it for is 7 days after I get my BP

so thats 7 days of unregulated UTH, which I would constantly have to monitor myself, day and night

And I cant have the store hold the BP any longer, once it hits 3 weeks old they are selling it. So I told them to hold it for me and ill get it the first day that they will allow me

So... Its extremely important that I find out who to contact to "track" this package as best as possible.

I tried contacting the company on amazon but they just said to expect it in 7 - 10 days....

    ALSO. I used a pre-paid visa.

It used all the money (34$) besides 25 cents. Im 17 so Im thinking.. well it didn't add taxes. I added canadian tax and it said 38$. The I read on amazon that taxes may be charged AFTER it crosses the border

If this happens where would I go to pay the tax so my package will be released to me?

Another thing is that my mom said that if you buy Canadian - US, you only pay the currency convertion. So the convertion of US to Canadian dollars is all I pay?

    Is that true?

Any help would be greatly appreicated. I thought I had everything under control now im stressing so much its crazy.. Im so worried

I can't help you with most of your questions, but I will say that Amazon is a very slow shipper. Even in the states, it takes me a week or more to get my product.

Damn.. that worries me. I may just return the package using the websites features and just buy it again, for like 40$ instead of 30$ and just do overnight shipping, or the fastest they have whatever its called

Thanks for the help, Im kicking myself now because of this lol

Well if it's already shipped I guess I don't see where tracking will help? It's going to get there in the same amount of time whether you know where it is or not correct? They probably shipped it first class mail which wouldn't have tracking going into Canada, only number you could look up would be the customs declaration and really that's not going to tell you much and probably be a few days behind anyways. You can always run to a hardware store and pick up a cheapo light dimmer in the meantime, you'll still have to keep an eye out and adjust but it will lower the UTH so it's not running full blast.

Yeah i guess its the same either way, tracking or not. I believe the shipping mentioned was : "USPS Airmail" Standard shipping

Im just worried that since my prepaid visa doesnt have enough funds for the customs mandatory 5$ payment that my package will be withheld (my fault for not checking how much was left on my pre-paid visa, turns out it used all funds on it esides 30 cents)

Also, ty ill see about getting the light dimmer for now

Well for future reference, they will not charge any of your cards for a customs payment unless you authorize it. When I get international shipments I usually take out some cash just in case I get hit with customs fees.

So you would have to pay the post man the customs money before he gave you the package.

Also, if you paid for the visa in canadian dollars then you have that much money in canadian dollars. if you are paying for something in american dollars then you do the conversion and that is what your card gets charges.

    Glad you got the thermostat!
