    Infertile, but not slugs?
I would still incubate them and check for veins tomorrow. You never know. In my experiences, they're either fertile, or slugs.; no in-between.

Candled it and it was a gone-er, its held its shape for that long, though is a bit deflated now.

But after laying and this whole time, it looked like all the others.

Sorry to hear this, especially since yours seem bad right from the get go

Thanks - sorry to hear about the one that you lost!

It stinks not knowing what could have been - sorry for your loss too!

Last season we had a clutch of 4 slugs and 3 eggs. Turned out 2 of the eggs were infertile. Only got one viable egg. This year a different girl laid the same ratio of slugs to eggs and one egg died a few days ago. The embryo was starting to develop. Two good eggs from that clutch. So far I've had crappy luck all around.
Your luck has GOT to turn around soon!

Yeah, I'd never heard of that happening either - but they glow bright yellow.

John, he sired a good clutch for me last year and produced two beautiful mojaves. I bred him to my black back female hoping to produce some really pretty mojo's this year.

I'm incubating them, I put them in the incubator on Sunday, candled them again yesterday - still no good - but like I said - I'm hoping that by some miracle veins start to form. Maybe some pixie dust will help - know where I can find some?

Thanks - on the positive side, I have seven FERTILE eggs from a gorgeous reduced pattern female and my lemon pastel laid last week.

I've heard of the infertile eggs, but haven't experienced it yet.

Awww....Robin, i'm sorry....that's not something we've experienced here but I've heard that it happens from time to time. Maybe this is karma's way of giving you a different clutch of absolutely perfect snakies next time

    Re: 7 Egg Clutch

I had clutch of 7 eggs laid on 5/27 all infertile......eggs looked a little small but viable, but no veins. I went ahead and incubated them anyway. They started to smell just a little by 3rd week so I trashed them...... BUMMED ME OUT......I don't know what it is this year with all these 7 egg clutches slugging out, but counting yours and mine seems like there have been a dozen of em, and a few have been het pied x to het pied pairings........I don't name any of my snakes but this girl now has one.....Sluggo......
