I have had this problem a bit myself....I have wood floors, so my first step was to put some old carpet under my racks to insulate the floor they set on a bit... After that I put in a ceiling fan to help stir the air since heat rises the top is always a bit warmer than the bottom, but this has cut my variance in temp down to about 2-3 degrees
