You find yourself at a distinct advantage vs an attacker with a knife or other non-gun weapon if you have a gun, whereas you'd be mostly helpless unarmed. (This argument presumes you're not a black belt in some martial art, etc.) Also, the police can't be everywhere at once - carrying a gun is simply a decision to take responsibility for your own safety. I don't own or carry at the moment, but recent events in my life have led me toward the position that it might be a good idea to start.
To the OP: does the slide ride inside the frame on your CZ? It looks like it might from the photo. I'm not sure if I like the look, but it's definitely unique, and as long as it shoots well and you're happy with it, it's all good, right?
