Struck himself....

Thanks everyone. I checked him out this morning and he is fine. He really missed the rat and struck a few more times and ended up latched onto himself. He coiled, but there was nothing there to coil. Then he started to uncoil like he was about to find the head and start to eat.....
He looked very confused when he figured out he was trying to eat himself...

Hey not intending to thread jack so sorry! I remembered that I had a Photobucket account so I uploaded a picture. I seem to have deleted the ones off my camera, but I had one on my phone.

It is weird watching her do it, especially because she really latches on, and has to yank pretty good to get her teeth out when she is finished. She just ate Friday, so if she is ready again this week I will see if I can get a video of her doing it.

Right? It worried me at first, but it doesn't do much damage to her scales so I figured no harm. If it hurt her, I am sure she wouldn't do it. I mean obviously it isn't accidental lol.

Man do I love that snake. She is a barrel of laughs. If you don't have a burm, get one when you have the space, money, time and knowledge. She has the most personality of all of my animals. But she can be a handful sometimes!

The only one of those i would have a problem with is time, i would LOVE to own one of those! I almost did it at the last herp show i was at but couldn't pull the trigger cause i don't know what my moving situation is like in the next year( embarking on a career change) and would hate to have to give that kind of snake up.
