Exclamation New Cages!!!!- My Work In Progress :-)

Well I finally got all the cuts made, I needed the use of a larger table saw then the one I have at home.. Good thing I know people who own a wood shop lol.. All the case parts are melamine and there will be ceramic tile goin in over the flexwatt for the hot side. I might go with led strip lights for viewing. (thanks Wako Nako)

Heres all the parts , first 2 stacks are for my BPs and the 3rd one is for my Blood, her's will be wider and deeper.

This is how they will be stacked but there will be 4" risers in between them, still need to make those.

Side shot- on the portion stickin out, will sit one of our Cresties, an below that over hang will sit our 2nd Crestie. All three cages will be sitting on top of a 4th case which will be for storage. Our Spotted Gecko will be sitting on top of the whole unit once all is screwed to the wall.

And the cages with center supports so there is no saggin and the lips so bedding does not fall out when I open the doors. Those will be out of white oak and have 1/4 plexi in it. More pics to come once I get more done.

Thanks for looking... Any and all advise or info is welcomed.

    Cheers

I like them. Simple but effective. If you need any advice just shoot me a PM. I just started a rabbit hutch today for the rabbit I brought my sister as an early BD/Christmas present. I'm about to put a log up for that lol

Talking New Cages!!!!- A little more Progress :-)

Got a little more done on the cages. Placed the flexwatt under the tiles and siliconed them down in place, the flexwatt is held down by aluminum tape (that stuff is bloody expensive)..

I forgot how heavy melamine is.. Holy Square Nuts Batman!!!!

These are for the BP's Djinn and Zeke.

This will be for Siafu our Blood.

Shot of the bottom as you can see I drilled the hole in the deck.

Close up! I used an 1 1/8 paddle bit.

Thanks for lookin, I still have to make the doors, need to mill the oak an make the grooves for the plexi. Not sure what I'm goin to to about a lock system..

    Cheers

Lookig good. Are you going to seal the cut bits of melamine that are visible?

Also, I found a simple barrel lock with snap hinges is more than sufficient to stop snake escapes.

I have the edge banding to do it, which I should have done before I put it all together, but I am now thinkin of doin a sealer over the cuts.

The barrel locks are the ones that you see on bathroom stall doors right?
