Most any device that anyone throws up here as their favorite has been making phones much longer than Apple has. They make great computers, but have only been making phones since '07 and didn't make a good one until '08. Most Android devices are made by HTC, Motorola and Samsung so they have tons more experience.

And they're locked down tight by Steve Jobs - unless you jailbreak it - and then what can you do?

Android, on the other hand is open source.

I my Droid Incredible - best phone I've ever owned!

My neighbor has an iPhone and the other night while driving home and talking to me, she kept losing the call every time she'd drive under a bunch of trees and have to call me back. She says she hates being on AT&T.

How do you like your incredible? its a 2 or 3 week wait till they will have them in stock again.... but idc, i LOVE my droid eris, though i wish the battery would last longer, the app killer saves the battery very well and is a must have app imo

My battery life lasts about 24 hours - but I have better battery life without the App killer.

I love, love, love this phone! Although I'm excited to see what phones will be available when Verizon rolls out LTE!

Re: droid (os) vs iphone vs blackberry

I was a HUGE BB fangirl. I had several different blackberries over the span of about 5 years and really enjoyed them, but I switched to a MyTouch running Android and I love it!!! The open source makes apps cheap and readily available. I don't like the idea of a single company deciding what I should and shouldn't have access to.

Plus, I love having a removable battery, If I'm going to be away from a way to charge my phone (however unlikely) I could always carry a spare with me!

Android is a force to be reckoned with, no doubt about it. There are "100,000 converts a day"!
I've been using a Moto Droid since it's launch day and can't imagine using anything else, it is just amazing. I just really, truly love my phone and it's OS!!
Froyo (2.2) is coming and will be a HUGE upgrade...why on earth would you NOT get Android these days (Waltah!, we all know you wouldn't so you don't count )

lol, I actually love Android. It's easy to make the device your own and the features keep getting better and better. Froyo is gonna be really good. I just need to hold out for a 4" all touch WebOs phone......if I can keep from buying a Dell Streak that is
