    The Acu-Rite probe does not measure humidity. It registers the the temp you see marked "Out" on the display. The humidity sensor and the "In" temp sensor are inside the unit. There are several little slots on the back where these readings are taken. Put the unit inside the tub and see what you get. If the humidity reads "HI" then it is at 100% or it has gotten water inside of it.

    Also, a thermostat for controlling the UTH would be a good investment...

    I would also put at least one row of holes on the front and back side and get used to working the humidity with some ventilation holes
