Themostat/heat tape
Sorry, not sure if this should be in the breeding section or not, but I thought since it was about thermostats and heat tapes it would be appropriate here....
So I'm building an incubator from a mini fridge and I was curious if 17" flexwatt would be better than the 11" since it would cover more surface area?
And as for the thermostat, I was hoping to purchase everything from reptilebasics.com since everything else I needed was on there, but anyway, have/do any of you use Ranco or Johnson thermostats for incubators? Or would you suggest I order a Herpstat from another site?

Ok i think I'll just go with the Helix on their site cuz paying shipping on another site will make it darn near that much anyway.
And TY for the advice on the heat tape! Gonna order now!

Aww poop! Oh well! I already ordered it It's ok. My friend is buying my small incubator once I set up my mini fridge so that'll help pay for some of the cost.
Thank you though!!

Keep in mind that whichever size heat tape you decide on, you will require 10-15 watts/sq. ft. of space. Overkill is just as bad as underkill in this case.
Good luck.
