    Finally Got My Beardie =D

I have been wanting to get a Beardie for the longest time now. An ex of mine used to have one (that he then sold because he "didn't have time", even though I'm the one that took care of him *shakes head*) anyway, I loved that little guy, I was really sad when he got rid of him.

BUT FINALLY! I had some extra cash and the baby Beardie's went on sale at Petsmart (I'm not a big fan of buying off chain stores such as petsmart but I haven't been able to find Beardies anywhere else around here). So I picked out this little one, fattest, healthiest looking one out of the bunch. He/She is really young, so I don't know the sex yet, but I named him/her Jack.

Got him in a baby tank until he gets a little bit older and bigger, but he's already growing like a weed 0_o, although I knew he would. I think I might get one of those 65 Gallon Reptariums (any suggestions?) otherwise I have a 40 gallon breeder tank already in my possession. He's a great eater, loves his crickets and has a super little personality. In the past my ex's first one was really nasty so he returned it for another which was nicer, but still a little snot. But little Jack is awesome, sweetest little thing. I've had him for about a week and a half now and he's currently 7 grams (as of yesterday).

Anyway, enough blabbing, here's the little guy:

So cute! I hope he's not a little bastard like mine. I also picked the alpha of the group.

Thanks. I love Monitors and Tegus as well, I just don't have the space or the experience for one yet haha. But in a couple years I want to get a Tegu (Ha, like my boyfriend and I will be able to wait a couple years).

Jack's a cutie for sure, my friends all love him. Hahaha I hope so too! His demeanor is much sweeter than Beardies I've met in the past so I'm hoping thats a good sign, if not oh well I'll just have my work cut out for me.

Im sure he will be a Sweety Ive found that most "mean" Beardies are either inbred, unhandled ( Like retired breeders or such), or neglected ones. Ive Honestly never had a beardie show any aggression towards me ever.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Me too . For all I know he could be inbred, but lets hope not, and he gets just the right amount of attention and all the love he could ever desire (my boyfriend is in love with him already, he's happy I got him).

He has the cutest big ole noggin....LOVE HIM!!! They are tons of work but sooo sooo rewarding!! We love our baby so much.

Typically a 20gallon is good for a little while. But we ended up building him a 4x2x2 enclosure with 3 levels. This is ideal for them when they get bigger.

There is a great site for beardie food and the content that I have found....

Congrats and have a great time!! They grow fast so takes lots of pics!!

Hes a cutie for sure! My beardie has a bit of a tough guy attitude but its cute. I have discovered he seems to prefer women. He doesnt like my son or his father at all LOL! Im also the only person he will take food from by hand feeding. They are really something. The personality just gets better with age.
