Got Eggs, HUGE PROBLEM!

LOL So true, I opened my window and the humidity just spiked from 55 to 85. I was really worried and totally in shock earlier but now that I've calmed down I feel better about the situation.

The first time I ever found anything with eggs, I was like "Duh what do I do know?" because I was so nervous, lol. Then you tend to run around trying to get everything together.

Ok, here's a little secret. I still get like that. I get so excited I don't know what to do with myself! Just keep that between you and me, ok?

I've left eggs with the female while setting stuff up before. A day or two is no problem at all. Remember, you could just keep spraying her and they would hatch in 2 months.

They're very good at taking care of their eggs if you give them the tools to do it, so they will be fine until your incubator's all ready.

You don't absolutely have to incubate them. Females do it in the wild all the time. As long as you can provide her with everything she needs, such as the right humidity, temps have to be steady, etc., then yea mamas can incubate the eggs.

I prefer to incubate them in an incubator. I can control more of what's going on with the eggs that way, plus I like being able to get the females back to eating as soon as possible.

You've just summed up my entire day. lol

I had to get her off the eggs though, the humidity was getting very low in the cage. For the temporary substrate I used carefresh, which is great for holding moisture. I mixed some luke water in with it and got it to the perfect consistency. RIght now the temps are at 87.7 and I have them set at 88.5. Tomorrow I should be getting my hatchrite in, and I'll get an extra tub set up and leave it in the incubator for a few days before making the switch. I really hope they make it, I would be beyond stoked if both hatch with no more additional problems.

Turns out there were only 2 good eggs (One boob egg!) they weighed in at 199 grams. Pretty awesome for my first clutch ever! Hopefully the ones to follow will go smoother. LOL
