You may want to wait about a week then feed her, then after about a two day grace period to let her settle then start handling
And I know its hard, I just got my first BP and I want to handle him but his health/well being have to come first.

Re: My First BP (Pictures Included)
It's so hard to contain yourself when you have a new snake, and especially if their so cute (like my girl. I think she's the cutest one out there, but that's just like mommy mode of me. lol). But like everyone says, you shouldn't handle them until they eat. It's even worse for me, because after I had her for the week, she went right into shed! -_-;; Good thing was, she did eat while in her shed, and she should be peeling soon. So it's all okay. lol =D But so you know, when your snake goes into shed, it's best to not handle them during that period also, on account of they can be aggressive because they can't see. Luckily, my little girl is VERY relaxed. Took her to the vet yesterday, and for a snake that can't see, she was at such ease and could care less she was in shed, it was more like she just wanted to be held. lol.

Re: My First BP (Pictures Included)
Haha yeah. I need to post a photo of my girl. She's just so cute! I love her. Haha. I fixed the girls WHOLE enclosure out yesterday. She know had logs, fake leaves, two VERY tight hides (unlike what was in there before), her water dish, and new bedding. I just switched to astro turf, which my vet recommended.
Speaking of which, I dont know where you got her, but if you got her from a pet store, make sure she see's a vet. I got mine from a personally breeder, and even though I knew she was well taken care of, I spent the cash, and had her checked out, just because I get worried like that. So just take her to a vet when you got the cash, just to make sure everything is okay with her (that just my personally opinion).
