Re: Risk of feeding ASF rats?
Is it possible to get ASF's pre-killed and frozen?? I would like to try to offer an ASF to get a reluctant feeder back on feed but would prefer to feed her a f/t ASF instead of going live.

I have had a snake too that when sold to me, I was told would ONLY eat ASF's. My friend and I bought 5 of these females. I took 2, he took 3. I quickly decided I did not want to bother with breeding ASF's at the time, and let my friend have one that I took, and traded the other one away as an "ASF eater."
My friend has had the females for several months..and has tried feeding ASF's, mice, rats and gerbils to them.
I think only 1 snake of the group has even eaten at all, and it was a gerbil.

I know there's a website that sells them frozen, and depending on where you live there might be a local breeder that does.
Anyways, I my BP was on mice and I switched her to ASFs. I tried a mouse a few months ago just to see if she'd eat it, and she wouldn't. That's all the experience I have.
Just 0.1 normal BP, 1.0 mojave, 0.1 California King, 0.1 Saharan sand boa, ~20 hermit crabs, a Patriot crab, 5.0 rats, and a herd of mice and ASFs
