Anybody Take Flaxseed Or Fish Oil Softgels???

I take both, every day when I can remember to do so. I take flax seed oil soft gels because I have gall stones and they are reputed to help prevent gall bladder attacks, which I have experienced. I take fish oil soft gels because my family Doctor recommends that I do so. I get no burps or taste from the fish oil.

With any fish oil or flaxseed oil make sure you keep it stored in the refrigerator. Preferably not the door, the temps can fluctuate to much. Also if you are taking them with a meal take a first item in your stomach right before you swallow your first bit of food.

Keep it in the fridge? I never heard of that. They don't do that at the store. Anyone else keep theirs in the fridge???? My flaxseed soft gels are not in the fridge. I am going to have to look into this....

And on a side note I just got some fish oil pills today. Just took two liquid soft gels with one of my flaxseed oil soft gels. I will let everyone know how I make out with them

I keep mine in the fridge also. I heard it can go rancid if not kept cold.
No fishy burps for me. For some reason it helps me sleep better

as for flax, i buy a bag of bulk flax seeds, and grind them into a powder in my magic bullet blender. i keep the powder in a container in the refrigerator, and every morning when i make my DELICIOUS fruit smoothie, i just throw in a bunch of flax seed dust.

I do the exact same thing with flax seeds, except I use a coffee grinder instead and do it daily so my seeds are freshly ground with no chance of rancidity. I don't find it takes that long, but I can see it being more convenient doing a bunch at a time for the week. I find the coffee grinder breaks the seeds up into a finer, fluffier powder than the magic bullet. Then I make my fruit smoothie (frozen organic berries with green tea) and add that in.

I don't do anything fish oil though because I'm vegetarian.

I have heard flax needs to be refridgerated but not fish oil.

Hmmmm, I just figured that extreme temps whether hot or cold would jeopardize the integrity of either of the two. I am going to start putting them in the fridge if that is better then!!! You learn something new every day!!! Thank you every one for your answers

I've never refrigerated my fish oil tabs and out of curiosity googled wether they needed to be or not. The consensus seems to be that they do not need to be refrigerated. This short article also goes into why some may get fishy burps and others may not.
