On your high horse again ic.....

@ Arsinoe = Because snakes lack a limbic system they are physically unable to recognize feelings like love. Your snake does not love you, nor does it like to be handled by you twice a day for an hour at a time, it is not disappointed if you don't have time for it. In all actuality it is less stressed and happier when you leave it alone, handling a snake for an hour or two a day is only going to stress it out..... In case I didn't make my underlying implication clear..... YOU ARE A BAD PET OWNER BECAUSE YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF YOUR ANIMAL AND ALL OF YOUR ANIMALS SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY UNTIL YOU CAN LEARN TO PROPERLY CARE FOR THEM!!!!!

... P.S. How's it feel to be treated like an inferior because of how you treat your animals?

    David,

While I completely understand your frustrations reading her posts, and the fact that you were trying to make a point, the last bit in all caps really was un-necessarily harsh.

You said you handle them twice a day, or try to. Maybe I missed it cuz I was reading fast (I tend to do that when I'm irritated) but do you do this during shedding? Do you handle your snake right after it eats or do you give it the 48 hours to digest?

Re: How Often Do You Handle Your Snakes?

Snakes don't like being bothered and it really does stress them out when you handle them too much or for too long.

I handle my snakes when I need to or to show people my snakes when they wanna see them. When I spot clean or change the water I'll normally handle them for a minute.

You never can really tell when a snake is stressed when it seems to be acting normally.

Guys, I think David was trying to show Arsinoe how she's making us feel about how we treat our snakes. Yes, it was harsh and bold of him to say that. But, it's harsh and down right rude the way she is talking to all of us. Some of you may say that David's reaction was rude, but I think it's to be expected from someone who is insulted, or feeling insulted, by someone else who doesn't know him and is judging him, and all of us, for the way we treat our animals.
