Re: I lost my Normal
Know anyone with a ferret? dont they try to hunt snakes like mongoose's do?
I know it sounds far fetched but I dont know what else to say that hasnt been suggested already, except maybe crush a rat skull and spread its brains all over a heat pad and place the dead rat on the pad in the same area you think she may have gotten into the wall, maybe the smell of rotting carrion and rat brains will attract her, especially with the heat enhancing the smell... Snakes eat alot of carrion in the wild, maybe this will work, my blood python loves to eat his rats after 12 hours of them sitting there...
If it was me I would be considering breaking the walls down and then dissapearing before the landlord showed up. I am so sorry yer little buddy is missing like this, good luck!

At the very least you could mention it before moving, and make sure they have your new contact info - so if they ever come across her, they'll be able to get a hold of you.
I've thought about it, not sure how to approach it yet. Maybe write a letter?

Very sorry about your snake, if it was a squirrel I could help you but the only thing I learned about catching a snake was from watching the crocodile hunter
The snake is a self adoring creature humility is not feature.

Dude....you better just keep your mouth shut. There's a good chance that Fish and Game may show up at your new place and take all your stuff. You really do need to pull out all the stops to find this thing though. This is one of the reasons we are having so many problems. This really could make worldwide news in a couple weeks when the new tenants move in and find it in their tub..... and guess what.....everyone on here knows it was you. You better hope these narks don't turn yah in.

BG is correct. Just last week I read on here or another forum of a ball finding it's way onto a dining room table. I believe the article said it was someones who was still living in the building and was returned to them.
Good luck in your search. On one of my other forums, someone built a snake trap. Let me know if you want the link.

I don't know if this will work for your snake, depends on the size.
I couldn't find the good instructions, so use your imagination I guess...
first, you can make a few bottle traps. Take plastic pop bottles, and cut off the piece right above the label. stick this into the bigger piece of the bottle facing twards the inside. Put a pink inside, and that should catch it. You could also try tracking the snake with flour around the outsides of walls. And you could use masking or painter's tape to make a tape trap. but DO NOT use duct or scotch tape, to sticky!

SO TRUE...A Snake on the loose will at least land ya on the local news. And you may even get blamed for all the probs in the everglades. I was on Petfinder looking for morphs (do you know you can get them sometimes for a small adoption fee of 35.00) I was reading some of the rescue stories and they were not nice. One poor little Corn snake was found in someones front yard getting beat with a stick. Another story-a BP was found roaming a neighborhood. Alot of people just assume a snake is venomous and will "shoot and ask questions later".

If the lease agreement he signed said it was ok to have reptiles in the apartment, would it still be such a big deal? It would mean that the other tenants signed the SAME agreement, knowing that reptiles are allowed in the apartment complex.
I could see where if it wasn't allowed, he could get in big trouble. But if it is, can they still do that?

The issue would be more that the snake got lose, than that he had it in the first place.
