Brave. Cool!
I once kept a rose hair tarantula. I couldn't sleep so well when I had it, so I rehomed it. Maybe it would've helped if it wasn't when I was a teenager and had to keep it in my room. LOL

I can't wait till this beefs up. I have never held larger rose hair before. I have heard people say that as they get older and larger, they get a lot calmer. Is this true? I know my share of info about these animals but I am no expert.

I'd believe the school of thought that they settle down with age and size. Same goes for kingsnakes, ratsnakes, cornsnakes, and the like. Lots to fear when little, less to fear with experience and size.

Yeah it makes sense. I mean I havn't been bitten by mine yet, and it's never really aggressive, but honestly sometimes it scares me because it gets startled easily and it takes off running really fast to another part of his enclosure.
It's kinda funny.... I scare him, he scares me.... Both of us think we are going to harm each other. lol
It's about a 50/50 chance. He will either run off fast away when I nudge his back leg, or he will walk slowly and have no problem beind held.

This is the truth and seriously funny!
Me, I do have concerns of the fangs being sunk into my skin, but more so of the hairs being thrown from their rump... the thought of that tenses my body!

hahaha yeah thats pretty extreme. just imagine if us humans could shoot out our hair if people really make us mad....
I'd probably be bald by now though

Re: Rose-Hair (3 month old)
Very pretty! But if that spider is 3 months old, I'll eat my shorts. I have one about 7 months old that is about 1/4 that size (actually it's about the size of a quarter, lol), this species isn't a particularly fast grower, you couldn't get one to that size at 3 months even if you powerfed the crap out of it. Most of them mellow out into very calm adults, just don't let him scare you and you'll be fine; remember it's a cycle, the tarantula twitches, you jerk, the tarantula jerks, etc etc. Move slow and calm and she will too!
