i've just started feeding proform Step 2 extruded horse pellets to the rats, actually and it seems to work quite well. i've never used purina or mazuri though, so i suppose i'm not really of much help.

Mazuri 6 F is designed for rodents to feed rats and mice designed to become feeders.

5012 is very high in protein 22%

My goal when it comes to their diet is to provide 16% to 18% protein max.

5012 is to high in protein IMO would you be able to find "hog feed" closer to ideal protein levels and still be able to not order it?
