Thanks so much for sharing, I havent been to a zoo in ages and that really inspired me to want to head out to one again soon.
Love maned wolves, I dont think Ive ever gotten to see one in person.

I just recently got into the world of DLSR photography and slowly finding my feet with it. The zoo is a great place to practice with the camera and gives you the urge to photograph even more stuff. I'll be back up at the zoo during the Easter hols so watch this space. There was a load of animals I missed out on.

The grey mystery bird is a crowned pigeon. Derek's pic does look the same; perhaps they are also called crested pheasants?

The other mystery bird looks like some sort of chicken, maybe, but I just can't see enough of it to be very sure.

It looks like you are correct with the Crowned Pigeon, rather then Crested Pheasant. Thanks

nice pics ... nice focus through the fence too! i hate when autofocus is on and it focuses on the fence .... looks like you did a good manual job .... i'm just starting to figure my camera out ... nice shots... the lions are my favorite!

If you had seen me this morning you would realise that the chimp looks radiant with joy compared to me. Drinking Guinness for three days is not advisable

The fence was a bit of a pain but I was able to eliminate it with the telephoto lens on full zoom. I'm still finding my round my camera and I have have to master the art of manual mode. I wish it were easier.
