The clowns are more expensive because they are recessive. Recessive gened animals the female is more expensive and in co-dom and dom animals the male is more expensive.
I count clowns as 2genes as it takes one het gene from each parent to make it. I also count pastel as 1gene and super pastels as being two (same as het you need one gene from each parent).

This was all taken to another thread. As far as the price of the killer clown, recessive combos are generally more expensive, but I was simply making a point because it is a 2 gene animal that is worth more simply because it is rare.
