I suppose if we start considering what specific lifetimes could be referenced, gnats, certain flies, other pests and parasites for whom an entire day IS a lifetime then the statements of The Gup would make more sense, but I'm not sure he considers such lowly creatures in the depth and breadth of his postulations.

Not that it matters, of course, but somehow it just seems like cheating to offer something as a one time deal then, once the deal has been consummated, to offer it over and over again.

Oh well, such is the life of The Gup I suppose, if he can't get satisfaction the first time around you KNOW he'll be there again, seeking to be the center of what ever there is to be the center of, even if he has to create that center himself.

Must be a fish thing.
Ummm, I read it as "Chance/opportunity of a Lifetime" not "once in a life time." Perhaps my speed reading overlooked "once in a life time" phrase in the post?

Far as I know...one can have many Chances in a lifetime. He's giving us one of them and perhaps will give us one of those chances many times in our lifetime.
