Where are you located? I may be able to help you locate a bottle of Provent a Mite, or if your desperate (and dont have to many tubs to spray lol) you could borrow mine

*edit: Im assuming your in Canada as someone previously posted lmao

*edit v2.: You can also try treating with Nix which is a lice treatment. Heres a link with some information on how-to: http://www.albertareptilesociety.org/caresheets/nix.pdf

Sure would have been nice to pay 18 bucks for it though, instead of the 70 I had to shell out

    Prevent-A-Mite is a must!!

Re: Again and again and again

The big problem is aerosols cannot be mailed outside of the US. You might be able to find a reptile store in Canada that stocks it.

I promise you, Provent a Mite is the way to go. I had a terrible mite infestation, and tried using this blue bottle of stuff the pet store sold me. Even though I sprayed every three days like the bottle said, they never went away, and eventually they killed my little BP.

That was about 2 years ago. When I started a new collection, I saw a mite one day about 3 months ago. It was just one but I panicked. The first place I came was here, and searched for how these guys get rid of them. I was fortunate enough to find a can at my local reptile show the following week, and I treated all my tubs that same day. I've never seen another mite. I still treat once a month, like the can says too, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Re: Again and again and again

Just like all others stated provent a mite. It is the best!!!!! I have never had this problem but personally would keep her on white papertowels. You can see stuff better. Again...never did this but someone told me....make sure that you treat the cage and that you get especially up on the top ridge...this is where they lay their eggs. Also...a little known fact for me that just adds to what a pain in the butt they are. They just reproduce on their own. Doesn't need two to tango...they can have them all by themselves....ugh!!!

Re: Again and again and again

The reason everyone here is telling you to use PAM is because it works. See if one of the stores on the net can ship to Canada, if not call PRO Products @ (845) 628-8960 to see where you can get it in Canada. This is the company's name and phone number thats on my can of P.A.M..You can't kill mites by soaking in water. when you put the snake in the water, very, very little air bubbles are attach to the scales of the snake, and they are everywhere. the mites can live for hours this way. You might kill some but nowhere near what's on your snake. I got this information, not word for word out of the VPI book on ball pythons. And I agree with the post above. I would be worry about the vet treating my snakes if he couldn't even tell me how to kill mites on one.

I'm really glad I read this thread and you said this I have seen a lot about treating cages with PAM and I always thought you were referring to the cooking spray called PAM. I never used it because I thought it would be bad for the bp never thought people meant prevent-a-mite
