And I really don't want this to turn into a battle between the omnis and the veggies. I was just looking for some support and well wishes on this new lifestyle change. Simple as that.

Exclamation Re: So I'm going to try this....

Some people just don't or won't take the time to learn something new.. I love meat I will always eat meat and my fiance knows this. She is a vegatarian and I have no problem with that. Hell I cook veggie meals for her and she makes some of the best filet I've ever had, mmmmmm sorry drooled a lil had a flash back to the filet..

As to those who don't want to get "crap" for they way they eat. Don't sling it at those who have said nothing about it.

Anywho if ya wanna eat veggies all the time DO IT and if not then don't.. I eat more veggies now then I ever have in my life..

And some of the vegan and vegatarian dishes are slammin. Tofu stir fry is wicked good and smells like bacon and maple syurp ( no it was not in there just smelled like it) If ya do not want to be a vegan or vegatarian then you don't have to be. Just open your mind to something different, instead of closing all doors to something new.. ok I'm done, I know veggies are good I got a hot fiance to prove it.

    Cheers!

Re: So I'm going to try this....

Thanks! I'm not on here to tell people to stop eating meat or change their own eating habits. I wouldn't like it if someone told me to eat meat and give up my beliefs because they think their way is the best way. I'm simply sharing that I PERSONALLY am going vegan and hopefully mostly raw vegan. This is a personal choice for myself and what I think is best for MY body, not yours.

To all you that eat meat, dairy, and eggs. Keep doing your thing. Trust me, I know how good a steak tastes, but I've decided its just not for me anymore. I can't say I'm sorry for posting about it here. I'm just excited.

.....whenever you hear someone making snide or agressive comments about your personal choices, just ignore them

from personal experience, i've seen that the people that hate on veggies/vegans (OR ON THE OPINIONS AND BELIEFS OF OTHER PEOPLE IN GENERAL) and claim they're "meat monsters" are shallow and empty headed and try to give off the impression that they're the "alpha" while in reality they have less substance than a empty drinking glass.

it takes real mental fortitude to recognize what's REALLY good for you and to take action in order to do it. anybody who criticizes other's choices are unhappy with their lives and have to remedy that by poking fun at the conviction of others.

just remember that you're the better person ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

    GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHOICE!

Re: So I'm going to try this....

I still stand by saying it's not really possible to be completely healthy, and be a strict vegan. Not vegetarian, mind you, but vegan. There are too many essential nutients in animal foods that humans require, and plant sources are scarce, and often in different forms that the body doesn't process exactly the same way.

But don't take my word for it:
    http://chetday.com/strictvegandiet.htm
    http://stanford.wellsphere.com/healt...ronment/652504

The assertion is that people who follow a vegan diet will feel fantastic, and better than they did before, for about the first year or so--but after that, their health will begin to deteriorate.

If this doesn't happen to you, that's really great--but don't go into denial if it does. It's an experiment you're engaging in--I do wish you luck, but also awareness that this isn't a choice that has truly been proven beneficial or safe.
