I see you are simulating the dry season for breeding purposes?

I did want to note how NEAT your snakes leave their tubs when breeding! LOL
Haha they dont always keep thier tubs like that! LOL

No we don't fill up water bowls when we pair, we have always done it that way and it works for us.

What's the reasoning behind that? I'm sure your snakes are still thursty, whats the harm in having water in the dish? I have 40 females laying this season usually 25 of them have a male in their bins with full dishes and I have never had a problem with the water getting in the way, the odd time their might be a few wood chips in their but your not even using wood chips?
    Cheers!

So that they don't spill it. We have done it this way for years and it has worked for us, I know a lot of people that dont even put water bowls in when they pair thier snakes. We have over 60 females breeding each year and haven't had a problem! We didnt start this thread to talk about us not filling the water bowls up. Some people do things different ways, and this is how we do it! Good Luck with your 40 females this season!

Thanks Everyone for the nice comments!

I wasn't bashing you for it, just thought it was odd. But I guess it makes sense since you use paper towel it would be easier to knock over the water dishes. I guess with the wood chips and the ceramic circular bowls I use it's harder for them to tip them over.

. . . and sorry I didnt say it in the first post I was just curious about the water, so here it is, Best of luck with that pairing I'm a big fan of Mojave pairings, best of luck with your 60 aswell!
    Cheers!
