    Siamese comes from the recessive C Locus gene. The C Locus gene darkens the hair in colder areas of the body like ears, feet, base of tail and nose.
    So the goal with a Siamese is to make a smooth gradient, in order to do so they must be selfs. Siamese are black with the C Locus gene, so when you need to maybe branch out for better traits only do so with black selfs. Do not use agouti rats, it is not flattering and pretty gross looking.

    Siamese x Siamese
    Siamese x Black (breed back to parents)
    Het x Het

    In order to make Himalayan rats you need to have an Albino mate with a Siamese.
