The big breeders also have the higher end morphs, that are still selling in the thousands.
I see you're in the UK, so your market is still a little different than ours. Here in the States, a normal male sells at shows for $20, females about $30 (babies). These are CBB babies, CH may sell for even less.
Not a single one of the morphs that I have in my collection (lemon pastel, lesser platinum, yellow belly, cinnamon, black pastel, spider, enchi, pinstripe, mojave, albino, het pied, het clown, het hypo) will sell for what I paid for them. I paid almost $1000 for my lemon pastel male in 2006, and that was a deal! Breeders here paid close to $20K for spiders, and are still breeding and selling them today.
Breeders adapt, breeders adjust. Breeders start making new combos that no one else has - that's why they stay in the business.
