I would only do the small ones...

the large ones had recesses in the handles I didn't like.
hmm, the ones in my home depot were identical to the smaller ones just bigger nothing like you said...But thanks a lot suzuki for getting those plans for me, I couldn't find anything for some reason. You da man!!

HD ones have holes in the handles and grips made by Plasque

Lowe's ones are made by MacCourt...

I prefer the lowe's ones but good ones are hard to find.

I have resorted to using the large HD units to form molds and make Frp reinforced tubs for my own personal usage.

In the small mortar tubs you can run 1.4 pretty easily.

Remember, the less rats you have in there to keep one another occupied, the more time they will have to think about things like how to escape.

Space between tubs should be determined by how much effort you wish to do on a daily basis.
I space my tubs further apart because I like stuffing extra food on each level to ensure they don't run out and I don;t have to bother with them daily.

    Next issue will be water.

Either buy the biggest bottles you can OR really consider a auto watering system. Both have advantages. If you plan to go large scale (many racks), there is no other option than auto waters.

deffinately doing the auto watering for suuuure!!

I use bottles now and I hate it. I also plan to space them out a little for more food. When I get the tubs I will take pics, because these are smooth. Maybe you can see if you HD can order them or something...?

You can buy the parts from Reptile Basics. Get the large sippers, the tank shutoff, clips for holding the sippers, and the joints from there. Also the in-line quick disconnects are helpfull for when you have to disconnect the tank that holds the water for cleaning. However you can buy the tubing in a clear variety from Lowes the same size cheaper.
