    On topic, for current husbandry info I'd recommend doing two things. First, give a look through:

    Most of what you'll find on the Internet involves RNA (rats/newspaper/aquarium) as methods of husbandry, and that mentality is horribly outdated.

    Second, a good book to pick up is:
    The Truth about Varanus Exanthematicus

    It's by Daniel Bennett, who has done years of field research and taken an interest in promoting proper care of Savannah Monitors in captivity.

    Your monitor (from the first post) looks to be in great condition. I noticed that the photo is from classifieds.com or something to that effect, and the enclosure has metal screen sides. That will cause all the humidity to escape and ends up dehydrating the monitor. Now that you bought it, do you have the monitor in a better enclosure?
