Re: Wish I was Somewhere else !!!

Almost 34 inches measured in my back yard. That doesn't include the 6 foot drifts against my house and shed. I got called to work today at 1 pm, I said I'd come in, if someone would come to get me. They don't have anyone on standby, so there's no one available to get me. We have power outages and this means our fiber circuits go down within 24 hours of the outage. I haven't even smelled the hint of a snow plow, so I guess i won't be going in.

I told them we needed people on stand by this weekend, but I guess 28 years of experience doesn't count for too much these days!

Wow. Yea, I was worried about a power outage last night. The lights dimmed but came back so *sigh of relief* My husband's work put them in a hotel last night and it was declared code red on Friday so he got double pay for Friday, was paid to sleep in the hotel Friday night, is getting paid OT and double for today (since it is his week off but they offered him a shift today) and will get paid to stay in the hotel tonight and get OT and double for tomorrow. So there is some good to come out of this storm.

Yeah, we're in Burlington County NJ on the other side of the Delaware from NE Philly. We're looking at 2 feet of snow but it has stopped now. Malls closed and no bread and milk left in the stores... Thank goodness, no power outages here. Last I heard our governor was still deciding whether or not to declare a state of emergency.

All this and maybe more on Tuesday?

Yeah, the weather forecast is indicating 3-6 inches for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in the Baltimore area.

And to think I've got a kid in Daytona Beach at Embry Riddle where I'm renting a house for him. I could be on the beach right now, but I'm digging out from almost 3 feet of snow. Where did I go wrong?
