haha if you've named him i sure hope he'll be a pet!

I think my boyfriend has decided to adopt him. While i'm semi-grossed-out by rats, he's been rooting for this one and i told him if he doesn't want it fed next week, he better keep it and take care of it. So as of now he will be another addition to my zoo-like life.

I have this problem alot... recently picked up about 30 rats to get some good colonies going and would you believe there were 2 perfect siamese rats in the mix. Needless to say, they are my keepers and will only be bred for pets in the future.

I feed mostly frozen but there are some that only take live. If a live is refused I just put it back in the tub it came from. Before I had breeding set-ups for my rodents I just had a 10 gal tank set aside with water bottle and food for temporary housing for the refused rodent. I now have a 12 tub norway rat rack, 4 large ASF colonies and 2 mouse colonies. If you get more snakes and want to stick with live, or they just refuse F/T, just make up a couple rodent tubs with mesh screen tops, a hole soldered in the side for water bottle and have food on hand. Then you will always have a back up plan and a place to keep the ones you fall in love with and just cant feed off
