    I used to bow hunt some and worked at an archery shop for a couple of years. It depends on your budget as to what kind you want to get.

    A plain bag target is good for field tips, but no broadheads. It's also pretty inexpensive.

    The compressed foam targets (the cube type) are a little more expensive and durable. You can also shoot broadheads into it. This is the one i would go with.

    The deer targets are expensive and not really necessary in my opinion.

    I know you said you didn't plan on practicing with broadheads, but I always sacrificed a couple for practice just to be sure they'll fly the same as the field tips do.
