Spider ? To Breed or Not to Breed?

Ed's too modest to post these links himself - but all spiders wobble - including all four of mine. Three of mine are full siblings to the striped girl in the first video and my fourth is a 1/2 sib to them. The "trainwreck" that he describes in one of the videos is my Tonka. Tonka no longer spins - he has a very slight head wobble, similar to a Parkinson's shake.

All of my spider's wobble display as a very slight shake or "vibrating" of the head that Ed shows in his video.

I think people are just looking too hard. I wouldn't consider that "wobbling"...it's just the quirky spider characteristics. I've seen spiders wobble, spin, flip and all that stuff and I don't consider a slight head tilt or slight shake once in a while a "wobble". I just don't think you can lump all spiders together as "wobblers"...it's all varying degrees....

I think the point is, from almost non-detectable to extreme trainwrecks, ALL spiders have a movement that is unique to spiders and not other morphs or normals. Sure, you have an occassional normal that displays a similar behavior, but it's not the norm as it is with spiders. All spiders display the "quirky" spider behavior. If you choose not to call it the spider wobble, that's your choice.

But that quirkiness can be passed on to offspring as a full spin, as it did with my Tonka - who outgrew it as he gained weight and got bigger. He still has uniquely spider movements when he cruises at night, when he explores the top of his enclosure and then topples over when he loses his balance. For me, it's a wobble, and it's part of being a spider. Love it or hate it, but I love spiders and I think so much has been made of the wobble, that it's become some sort of negative stigma, when it shouldn't be. Embrace the spider and his uniqueness, including his wobble.

Just like it was said above some have it worse than others. I ve never ran into a spider that doesnt have some kid of wobble. My spider has a slight wobble and will be bred to my pastel this year. Personally i say go for it. Just dont breed spider x spider lol
