    pewter albino pied

Planning to start this project next year..considering my options, should I create a pewter albinos then breed, back to a pied, or breed back to a dh pied albino, I realize that the dhets then need to be bred back to each other so on that assumption I guess the most straight forward way would be pewter albino x pied= pewter, black pastel, pastel dhet pied albinos..opinions appreciated, thanks

meant to add..if this is the case I can breed a pewter to a visual albino & an albino to a visual pied to get the ball rolling on the double hets

well have to first look at what you can acually get, You might be able to get a pewter het pied (i could see them being for sale next year) and you could most likly get a albino pied or atleast a albino het pied.

I could tell you your options if you tell me what snakes you will be starting with, there so many possibilites

I have a trio of albinos plus hets, a pair of pieds & a black pastel pewter..vpi axanthics for a couple of pied & albino projects & a couple of pastel females mated to the pewter witch will lead on to super black pastel pied projects..plans are initially for pewter( or silverstreak) pieds, pewter albino, albino pieds & ultimately pewter albino pieds, axanthic pieds, snows

    Re: pewter albino pied

ok so your starting with all base morphs.

pewter x albino 25% pewter het albino
pewter x pied = 25% pewter het pied

pewter het albino x albino = 12.5% pewter albino
pewter het pied x pied = 12.5% pewter pied

pewter pied x pewter albino = pewter double hets (among other double het types)

double het x double het = pewter albino pied

using sterlings and silver bullets and such will increase your odds. thing you want to avoid is making possible hets

DH X DH = Lots of possible hets. You have your 1/16 of hitting the double recessive. The other 15/16 all have a question mark next to them.

Wow, that looks like one real ambitious project, good luck with it.

I sure hope that the odds gods are smiling on you

A Black Pastel Pastel Albino Pied.... oooh.... any ideas on what that would look like?

I have a proven pewter het pied available now! I actually have 3.0 proven males. Take your pick! lol! I should have pewter pieds and possibly sterling pieds this season. Cross your fingers. Hopefully my pewter het pied girls will be up to size by next year.

yea but it can hit what he wants, to prevent making possible hets he would have to breed to a albino pied.

you jsut don't want to be breeding your pewter pos DH to a pewter pos DH and find out one gene is missing.
