Side note:
Robert sold me that animal as a black pastel. Robert is a stand up guy and one of the most honest people I have encountered in this hobby. If this thread goes anywhere near questioning that, or making snide comments about the animals he produces - I'll throw the biggest hissy fit any of you have ever seen.
Count on it.

Re: What is he... Cinny or B.P.?
Having looked at a ton of adds and more pictures I think they're the same, just like all the "yellow" pastels. I saw BHB has a Lori Ball Python for sale which looks like a light colored cinnamon, kind of how Dave looks now.
Found a dealer who had both cinnamons and a black pastel for sale and they looked the same to me.
I took a really close look at my cinnamon female and while she doesn't have highly noticable squiggles, she does have darker scales around the alienheads that once she fades will probably look like Daves.
I wonder which line of black pastels has the high yellow content? They're the only ones that really seem different.

I don't doubt Robert at all and would vote Dave is a black pastel just on that. Dave is 4(?) years old now, so we can't reliably use his color as a determining factor I don't think.
I have read all the threads on this forum multiple times in a "cinnamon black pastel" search. Coke is to Pepsi is to Sams is to RC is to Sunnyside, all taste a little different, but they're all still colas.

You're all right Dave.
Hank would love to meet you. He's much manlier than your reptile namesake. He was originally a Henry, then my son thought that was too femme and we switched it up. If he had hands, they'd be large and hairy.
I used to mow the lawn with him draped around my shoulders. He's a chick magnet - ask Laura.
Back on topic:
Dave the Snake is a black pastel. All of searching and comparing this morning has not only confirmed that, but given me a hell of a headache. You ball python people live in different world.

My girlfriend and family still have four months left in quarantine before another species can be introduced.
He's a good looking boy, ahem, man though.

I never tried that with my wife. How's that working out for you?

Re: What is he... Cinny or B.P.?
Sorry, I should have been more specific. Example number 1 at the bottom of the page says wc cinny and it had squiggles. Example 3 says black pastel.
Whatever it is it's beautiful.
And Deborah is right, her snake looks remarkably like yours. I don't know who you got it from, but if you trust him, that's what matters.
I wonder, are the two morphs compatible or not? What I mean is, would you ever breed a cinny and a black pastel, or would that only serve to muddy the water even more so to speak?

im pretty sure if you breed a cinny to a black pastel you get the all black super with the white belly.
their super forms are almost identical.
I personally believe they are different lines of the same morph, much like the butter and lesser. There are animals you can tell the difference between the two with, and then there are examples of animals where you can't tell them from the other, or they look like the opposite.

Still not seeing it. The only WC on that page is a black.
Quote:
Example 1- This is a w.c. Black Pastel, can you see al the traits (the trend)? First off let me say sorry about the terrible picture, its hard to see color but it will give you an example of the traits we look for. Flames in RED. Squiggles in BLUE. The clear belly in Yellow, and the Blushing in GREEN. He does have the usual Black Pastel color but this picture just does not show it. He also does have the deep black eyes. Not the best example of a w.c. but you get the idea.
Example 2 is a cinny and then example 3 is a black.
