As for your snake - good thing snakes are machines and can rebound quickly. He should recover with some good TLC! Snakes can go a looooong time without food (Just because they can doesn't mean they should) so I don't think you will have too much of an issue. Just keep the meals smaller at first and ease 'im back into the eating thing. Once he puts on a few gs, crank up the food size.

If your heart isn't into it, maybe try finding him a new home? It may be better for the both of you. Then again, he may be a good friend that can help you emotionally recover.

I too am very very sorry for you loss. I have echo the sentiments of others though. Sometimes in life, we get dealt a hand of cards that just absolutely sends up into survival mode. On forums like this we also frequently get young children who post things like that and I honestly figured that's exactly what your post was.
If your at a point now where you can do the right thing by the animals that's great. In the future though, when you hit the wall and you can see that you are not able to do the right thing by your animals, for whatever reason, it's time to find them a good home.
