    Re: I have done harm??

Don't worry, we're here for you. However you've got to admit, your message was a bit cryptic. Not many facts, just saying you were bad to your snake.

Now that you've enlightened us, we have a better understanding as to what occurred and can relate to your issues.

Pictures of the snake would help. If you need help you will get it here.

    Take Care,
    Jim Smith

    Re: I have done harm??

    Beth,

I am so very, very sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your son. Watching his suffering (and the others) must have been horrible and taken nearly everything out of you. I hope that during this time you have a supportive family around you and reached out to friends who could help.

There is an element of perspective that comes into play when devastating things come into our lives. Your inability to care for your animals came from the focus you had on your tragedy, and trying to save your son's life IMHO.

It took a TON of courage to post this information, and I feel certain that you have gained some of that courage from coming through a tremendous amount of misfortune.

You are a human being. You suffered a tremendous loss, and there were other casualties because of this. You are not a bad person, and don't allow anyone to convince you of that. You now have some sad finality in some matters, but your animals are still with you, and it sounds like there may be time to give them the attention they deserve.

I extend my hand and my heart to you...

Sorry to hear about the loss of loved ones. Your BP will recover, you just need to put a little elbow grease and some TLC into him. Yes some people are very quick to judge, but only you know how you felt in the hard times, and no one else can know the hurt you went through. Hope 2010 is better for you

    Re: I have done harm??

I rescued a snake that was 8 years old and not fed for months at a time, after a few months of weekly feedings he responded wonderfully. If he is still alive then he is probably one healthy snake. try to get him feeding regularly(weekly) and he should bounce back.

Your original post was kind of odd and honestly it almost sounded like someone trolling just to get people all wound up. Thats what trolls do. You may not be aware of this scenario but trust me it happens.

If you have any questions you dont want to share on the open forums feel free to PM me and I will try to help you along. Try to understand why people reacted negatively and try to keep a positive outlook.

    Sincerely,

    Wow.

Thats harsh. I am sorry for your loss and the pain that you went through. Nothing is more painful then to see someone you love dearly suffer and be powerless to help. I wish you the best in the future. Nothing we can say here will can ease that heartache

As for your snake - good thing snakes are machines and can rebound quickly. He should recover with some good TLC! Snakes can go a looooong time without food (Just because they can doesn't mean they should) so I don't think you will have too much of an issue. Just keep the meals smaller at first and ease 'im back into the eating thing. Once he puts on a few gs, crank up the food size.

If your heart isn't into it, maybe try finding him a new home? It may be better for the both of you. Then again, he may be a good friend that can help you emotionally recover.

What ever you decide, best of luck!

I too am very very sorry for you loss. I have echo the sentiments of others though. Sometimes in life, we get dealt a hand of cards that just absolutely sends up into survival mode. On forums like this we also frequently get young children who post things like that and I honestly figured that's exactly what your post was.
If your at a point now where you can do the right thing by the animals that's great. In the future though, when you hit the wall and you can see that you are not able to do the right thing by your animals, for whatever reason, it's time to find them a good home.
    Do you have pics?
