    Re: Freezing temps in FLORIDA!!

You northerners have clothing and insulated houses and heaters and all to keep you satisfyingly warmed inside. The temps in my house are dropping like a rock. Found out the central heat isn't working now, apparently the ductwork is loose, and I can't fix it until after work tomorrow!

So now I have cloth hanging up to block off the unused areas, and just the living room(where the dogs and monitors are) and the snake room(duh, where the snakes and MY NEST is) are heated by space heaters.

If I lived any further north, I would DIE. I hate cold. I'm going to go crawl inside my danged oven now so I don't freeze to death.

We can only hope that politicians take this into consideration on the S373 bill, there's no way these snakes can survive in those temperatures.
My parents just got back to KC from my house in Florida and they said tomorrow the high is 0, not sure what the windchill is up there.

    COLD!

Its been so cold here it isn't even funny, though still bearable. But its been snowing and snowing, so its just piling up and not going anywhere.

Our cars have really been acting funny too, with the airbag lights coming on and ABS lights flashing, they don't like the cold

So because you get skunked a few nights while herping the area has been abandoned by snakes?

There is no logic behind that statement at all whatsoever.

    Matt,

My statement was a joke, and while I like to make fun of Al and his pretend science, I didn't actually mean that a cold snap debunks his propaganda (it's the mountain of actual scientific data that does that- an issue for another thread). I was more making fun of the fact that if it's slightly warmer people in a certain place, or a polar bear dies that it suddenly proves that 'climate change' is man-made.

It does amaze me what a team of data-doctoring scientists and a willing media can accomplish, though.

    It's wonderful, isn't it?

Don't you love how there's about 3 inches of ice on every non-snow emergency route road, and all the sidewalks as well?

Sigh. I often wonder why I came back from Hawaii. If it wasn't for a midwestern girlfriend, I'd only spend the summers here
